GeigerCars Corvette Z06
If you thought the old continent had a sort of contempt towards American cars, you are wrong: in fact, since 1979, GeigerCars deals exclusively with muscle cars (and not only), tuning them to get even more horsepower but also gaining a bit of drivability if compared to the starting product, just like a classic European customer wants. The Company, based in Monaco (Germany) is one of the rare German reality in which a Brand focuses on cars from overseas, and does so with a dedication that does not go unnoticed. Modifications are substantial and also the finishing touch to the colour scheme makes these cars unmistakable. Take for example the Corvette Z06, based on the C6: the Chevy already has a powerful 7.0cc V8, a noticeable figure at the limit of the manageable, given the obsolete engineering that you find under the frame. GeigerCars thought that the 500 horses of the original model were not enough, so they had to intervene heavily and what better way than to increase the cubic litres of the engine and then bring the Chevy at 7.6 litres? Yep.
Dona that, they also added two turbochargers and a gearbox and a transmission specifically designed to handle the inhumane power that the car can now deliver, which “stops” at 890hp 940Nm of torque. Only hearing these figures let you imagine how dreadful could be to drive a rear wheels American sports car with such a power, suggesting two long and endless strips of tire on the asphalt. But this is not the case, if provided you won’t floor the gas until you engage the third gear, or maybe even fourth. The Z06 biturbo is a wild beast, with lowered suspension and sits on 285 tires at the front and 345 at the back, really doing everything possible to avoid losing the amount of power at your disposal. On the inside it’s not changed at all, except that for some stitching to match the exterior, very showy in its pea-green or black, representing the usual kitsch attributable to the hand of a classic German tuner. Either you love it or you hate it, in terms of performance and driveability, is always very extreme, but the sound that the four exhausts give off is worth at least a quarter of the price of the entire car, another quarter is the engine, while the remaining half bring the Corvette over budget, on figures that will enable you to buy most fun and sexy supercars.
