I Put My Life Into The Hands of a McLaren 570S
“One day, most likely, it will end badly. Hahaha (laughing)! I hope not, but I am sure you know that we are talking about a missile, a nearly 600 horsepower supercar, with a low weight, capable of splashing from 0 to 200 in the same time that a random hatchback takes to reach 70/80 kph! The McLaren 570S is the baby McLaren but you can’t call baby a car which is physically bigger than the 650S, since it also shares virtually the same engine (ok, some horse less), a twin-turbo V8 that thanks to an instant torque as progressive as that of a naturally aspirated one, can surprise you every time you have enough space to ground a couple of gears.
I started to live a sort of Russian roulette game whenever I can devote a day of driving as God commands – whether it is on a track or a winding road in the Bavarian hills, where I live since ten years now. The beautiful thing of the 570S is that despite being comfortable and equipped with any gadget you could possibly want, it never stops to remind you how lucky you are to have such a chassis, those endless ceramic brakes, and a number of tricks to save your back when the game becomes dangerous. The adrenaline, the thrill that took me choosing to do skydiving, it’s an everyday routine, even with my feet on the ground, in the very moment I put my life in the hands of my McLaren. For that I am extremely grateful.”
