Mercedes-AMG Project ONE: Formula 1 On Steroids (For The Streets!)
It has been a long wait, but it is finally here – we are talking about the incredible AMG Project ONE, Mercedes’s hypercar directly derived from the technology developed in Formula 1. To power the extremely low and wide coupe, still under the shapes of a concept car but incredibly close to what will be the final version, there is a 1.6cc V6 and four electric motors, coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission able to ground more than 1,000 horses.
It just takes less than 6 seconds in order to accelerate from 0 to 200 kph and once there you’ll be able to go well over 350 per hour. There is a lot of technology in this car, and above all, solutions never adopted before on a road model, such as the small combustion engine that can reach up to 11,000 rpm! A torque vectoring system will have the task of managing the overall power and allowing the Concept ONE to efficiently ground the power reserve. Within the carbon fiber monocoque there is place for pilot and passenger, while Mercedes hugely put recalls and tributes to the victorious F1 cars here and there, especially regarding some aerodynamic and functional details as much as the steering wheel from which to operate the main commands for the dynamic of the car itself, also dominated by one of the two large digital displays. Almost all of the 275 cars planned for production have already been allocated, but if you have some coins left in your pocket, put them together with the cash of the last few months until you arrive at €2,275,000 (taxes excluded), it will be worth it.
