Mercedes Plays Hard With The New AMG E63 S
In a time when performance are available to everyone, car makers have to find something special to satisfy the most demanding customers, those that for example want in one car both the comfort and elegance of a sedan, but without giving up their supercar performance. The AMG specialist department has found the right way for making our mouth watering with the presentation of the new E63, available with two engines – the “base” model that has a 4.0cc twin-turbo V8 grounding 571hp and 750Nm of torque and the E63 S that with the same dimensions of the engine, however, is able to provide 612hp and 848Nm of torque. This makes the E63 S the most powerful stock E-Class ever produced. But it doesn’t end here …
That’s right, there’s more – in fact burning the 0-100 kph in 3.5 and 3.4 seconds respectively, is only the first way to make you grow hair on the stomach, since a variable torque management system will allow you to play with a real “Drift Mode” in order to put sideways this pachyderm like a rear-engined sports car, even opting for the 4Matic + all-wheel-drive system. Better balance, more power, but also an eye to emissions and fuel consumption with the opportunity to turn off one entire bank of the cylinders and the possibility to cruise with 4-cylinder instead of 8 when your Dr. Jekyll takes over on Mister Hyde.
