Porsche Macan GTS | News
Just in time to be added to your Santa Claus letter, here comes the ultimate version of Porsche’s Macan SUV. Not the most powerful, ‘cause that’s the 440 horsepower Turbo, but certainly the most devoted to pure driving, which perfectly follows the meaning of the GTS badge (Gran Turismo Sport). The latest addition to the Macan range comes with the traditional features for this model that knows how to please those driving enthusiasts who can’t do without a more responsive chassis. In this case we are dealing with a 2.9cc V6 twin-turbo (the same as the Turbo) which delivers 380 horsepower and 520 Nm of torque through a PDK double clutch gearbox and all-wheel drive. The 0-100 kph is a matter of 4.7 seconds and the maximum speed is 261 kph.
What makes the Macan GTS really fun to drive is in the set-up, with a refinement to the PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management) system, a reduced height of 15mm and which can further decrease of 10mm, opting for air suspension. Then there are 20″ alloy wheels and aesthetic details that recall the other GTS models of the brand. Even the brakes have been improved with 360mm discs at the front and 330mm at the rear, but you can also choose the PSCB system which includes a special tungsten carbide surface or the beloved carbon-ceramic (PCCB) ones. Finally, there is the Sport Chrono pack and numerous driver assistance wizardries, because after all, the Macan is still a car designed to be driven 365 days a year. The GTS will arrive on our roads at the beginning of 2020, with prices starting at € 80,000.
