Rallye Monte-Carlo Historique
ITALIAN PIERLORENZO ZANCHI AND GIOVANNI AGNESE WIN THE RALLY
Between the night of the 3rd and 4th of February, the eighteenth edition of the Monte Carlo Rally, dedicated to historic cars, has crowned its winners. After we have experienced unique emotions, thanks to the younger WRC, a number of cars that do not want to have on them the smell of mothballs, raced at their best, facing snow, ice, poor visibility and darkness of the night. Cars driven by drivers who have come from all over the world, to do battle from the beginning to the end, in one of those competitions that pass unjustly too muted, even among fans. Fulvia, Escort, 112, Porsche 911, Beetles, Golf, Alpine, in short a huge variety of classic, took part in the 2015 edition, but after a series of hard and battled stages (just sixteenths at the start of the final stage ), the team of Zanchi-Agnese, at the wheel of their 1978 VW Golf GTI, has succeeded in the incredible comeback against the Belgian Maes and French driver Durand, snatching the win, just in the most difficult stage of them all: the iconic Col de Turini.
