Super Light: Better Than Ever
The restyling of the famous German roadster attracted our attention, both for the smoothness of the lines, going to marry perfectly with the long and typical car body, both for the number of updates that invade the “my 2016” on the interior, exterior and mechanically speaking. The classic 400, 500 and 600 versions are followed by the two bad girls SL63 AMG and SL65 AMG, respectively powered by a 5.5 V8 twin turbo and a 6.0 V12 twin turbo. Among these top of the line there are few differences in terms of aesthetics, with many details that find their highest expression in the front grille and at the rear section of the whole car; they are beautiful, whether the roof is open (can’t wait for Summer to come back), both with the folding metal roof closed, where very often some models have to accept logistical compromises, ruining the look of the car.
Not this time.
Power enacts at 585hp for the SL63 and 630hp for the SL65, which also features 1.000Nm of max torque. Both are mated to a 7-speed automatic transmission and equipped with every comfort imaginable; the approach will not be to spank it between the curbs, the weight is considerable and always close to 2 tons, but such a power reserve would love to accompany you on scenic routes, offering different driving styles that will respond to the diver’s needs.
There is so much to say, so follow us, because on our next issue we are going to deep our knowledge about the latest “Super Light” born under the sign of the “three-pointed star”.
