The Maserati MC20’s Beating Heart: Nettuno | News
It is the beating heart that will drive the brand new Maserati MC20, ready to debut on September 9 later this year and it’s so special that it has been given a name: Nettuno. Designed and developed by the Tridente itself will be one of the many pieces that will catapult Maserati into a new era made of models more and more able to excite from a performance point of view, without forgetting that essential link that the Modena brand focuses on representing luxury, elegance and class.
The MC20 will be 100% Made in Modena, it will be something great, a truly innovative model and the long wait does nothing but increase the desire to find out what its shapes will be like. For the moment, Maserati have decided to give us a taste by revealing what will make the MC20 capable of devouring the road and the track and in fact Nettuno is ready to set new standards. It is a 3.0 cc V6 capable of delivering 630 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 730 Nm of torque from 3,000 to 5,500 rpm with a red line that will touch 8,000 rpm. Nettuno is a twin-turbo and has three fundamental components such as the pre-chamber, that is a combustion chamber between the central spark plug and the traditional combustion chamber, a lateral spark plug that acts as a support to ensure the regular combustion of the engine when it is working in operating points where the pre-chamber is not necessary and the double indirect and direct injection system, which decreases noise at low revs, reduces emissions and improves fuel consumption.
Well, now we are even more impatient to see it. And to drive it.
