Vilner Updates the Interior of one of Brit’s Most Extraordinary Supercars
It was produced from 1991 to 1994 in only 275 units and created some confusion and discontent, when instead of coming out with a big V12 (as the Company had announced) showed off “only” a 6-cylinder supercharged engine. Furthermore, it was not all wheel drive, but only RWD. Nevertheless, the performance of the stratospheric XJ220 were such as to enable straight access to the Olympus of supercars of the era, and we must say that it still defends great. On the outside it looked and looks like a spaceship, with that seemingly endless line, so low and with that glass panel that practically starts from the front going back to the tail. Amazing, but you can’t say the same for the interior, boring and with leather and plastic that the lucky owner would not expect. This is the reason that led one of these lucky collectors to entrust his XJ220 to the Bulgarian tuner Vilner, a proper interior specialist. At this point, the cabin of the Jag supercar par excellence has been expertly updated through the use of fine leather (brown, as the body), alcantara and stitching to create contrast on the seats and the instrument panel. There are also brown finishes in carbon fiber and the steering wheel is completely new. It is pleasant to note that thanks to this kind of restyling, this cockpit is now a more than pleasant place to stay while unleashing 550hp; everything without having distorted its original character.
