Actually, VW have also unveiled the GTD and GTE versions.
When we first saw the shapes of the eighth generation of the legendary Golf, our thoughts immediately went to the one that makes our hearts beat faster, the GTI. VW will not make us wait long and indeed has already unveiled the sporty version that replaces the amazing MK7. Powered by a 2.0 cc turbocharged four-cylinder, the new Golf GTI delivers 245 hp and 370 Nm of torque, with the possibility of being equipped with a 6-speed manual transmission or with a 7-speed DSG ‘box. Aesthetically we have the classic hallmarks of the GTI as the thin red line that traces the width of the engine hood, side skirts and larger air intakes compared to the traditional model. The interior maintains a sober environment that does not hide its need for speed vocation, thanks to contrast stitching, seats with integrated headrests and the iconic Clark texture as an option.
Together with the GTI, Volkswagen takes the opportunity to also introduce the new GTD, the Golf diesel designed for those who travel many kilometers throughout the year, without renouncing the panache of its 2-liter TDI with 200 hp and 400 Nm of torque, not to mention the GTE plug-in hybrid, even more hi-tech and with 245 hp and a new 13 kWh battery, useful for driving up to 60 km in full electric mode.
