ABT Golf GTI: It Doesn’t Hide Its Muscles
Since it was born, the Golf GTI has always been able to make car guys fall in love with it. Just drive it for a couple of hours and you will want one too. With the passing of the years we have come to the seventh generation, the one that has led performance of the world’s most beloved hot hatch in a territory until now unthinkable, always keeping its innate ability to be used 24/7 for every single day of the year.
German tuner ABT, however, decided that it was the case to give it a look that doesn’t know half measures and so they have literally turned it into a supercar for every day. Let’s start by saying that at least for the moment we are not talking about engine upgrades, but you know well that the 2.0 turbo lends itself to exceptional power ups, maintaining reliability and discrete fuel consumption. What’s changed is the look, starting from the new wheels (available from 18 up to 20 inches) and passing through the quad-pipes exhaust, while spoilers and front splitters increasing in size, redefining the image of one of the angriest GTIs you can come across. Finally, we have a new front grille and a lowered suspension kit that help to cut a few inches of height from the ground, giving you an even more dynamic feel.
