Are The New RS7 and RS6 Not Enough? Here Comes ABT With Their Monsters.
With the arrival of the new RS7 and the mother of all the performance wagons, the new RS6, Audi has once again shown everyone what is meant by setting the benchmark in terms of performance four-doors that can really be used 365 days a year. However, if you want to stand out from their many lucky customers, there is a name that stands out and that transforms an excellent every day sports car into the best of the lot. ABT drops a couple of aces, revealing the extreme RS7-R and RS6-R, both produced in a limited series of 125 units each. What remains of the production cars are their main features, but both aesthetically and mechanically we are facing two real asphalt devouring monsters.
For both we talk about a much more muscular body that has no intention of passing unnoticed, with widened wheel arches, new front and rear bumpers, where at the back we also find an immense diffuser and a sports exhaust that will anticipate your coming from several kilometers away. Ultra-light 22-inch wheels and numerous details that embellish two cars that definitively represent the annihilation of that barrier that has always made both the RS7 and the RS6 two rational models.
Finally, the 4-liter twin-turbo V8 that drives both the RS6-R and the RS7-R has been brought from 600 to 740-hp, with a maximum torque that rises from 800 to 920 Nm, numbers that thanks to the four-wheel drive Quattro system and the updates on the gearbox also allow an improvement in the 0 to 100 kph, which goes from 3.6 to 3.2 seconds, not to mention a top speed higher than 300 per hour and a sharper drivability thanks to its new suspension.
