Akylone by Genty Automobile: The 1.200-HP French Dream Car | News
You’ve probably heard of it a few years ago – it was 2014 – but this October SA Genty Automobile finalized the design of a dream car ready to debut on the road. It’s called Akylone and it’s the new 1,200-hp French hypercar bluntly aiming to be the ultimate expression of automotive passion and pleasure. Judging from the first images we certainly can’t blame it, in fact the Akylone comes in the more traditional forms of a hypercar 4 and a half meters long, 2 meters wide and just 1,150 mm in height. The compact body is further accentuated by the huge 20″ front wheels and 21″ at the rear, the latter being fitted with 325 tires.
But the beating heart of the French newborn is the engine, a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V8 grounding 1,200 horsepower and 1,200 Nm of torque, of which 1,000 Nm are already available in the range between 4,500 and 7,000 rpm) with ballistic performance anticipated in the order of 2.7 seconds to shoot from 0 to 100 kph, 7.2 to reach 200 and a top speed of 350 per hour also guaranteed by a weight that stops the scales at 1,280 kg. Rear-wheel drive only and a 7-speed sequential gearbox complete a package for a car that hides the most interesting qualities in the details and therefore manages not to give up a look that doesn’t need to scream how much it is going to be special.
