Alfa Romeo Giulia SWB Zagato | News
It is a one-of-a-kind specimen and a glorious tribute to the legendary Alfa Romeo SZ. The idea of creating a SWB (short wheelbase) based on the performance-focused Giulia Quadrifoglio arose from the desire of a wealthy collector looking for something special that was capable of breaking the schemes into the current price list of the Arese brand. In this way Zagato thus had great freedom, remaining faithful both to the reference model and to those details that make this work of art unmistakable even at first glance.
Two-door carbon fiber bodywork and shortened (Giulia/Stelvio) chassis that houses the iconic 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6, here with 540 horsepower. These are the main aspects of Zagato’s creation, but the Giulia SWB is much more, it is art in motion and recounts the stylistic gamble introduced in 1960 with the first SZ, such as for example in the headlights, the large grille and the sinuous lines of the side profile that lead the eye towards a raised tail dominated by a thin strip of lights that incredibly manage to integrate with an extremely clean rear and which allows a glimpse over the double bubble roof, another inevitable Zagato signature.
The Giulia SWB is destined for only one very lucky owner, but the whole world can enjoy such a beautiful object and admire it and who knows if some of these solutions will not be taken up for future production of the Arese brand.
