ATS Corsa RR Turbo: Make “Made In Italy” Great Again
The high-performance, high-technology racing car with competitive price and maintenance costs, specifically developed to allow drivers to race in multiple international classes.
ATS CORSA has created a unique project of its kind, aimed at offering a new opportunity for racers worldwide: the RR Turbo represents the balance point between low costs and high performance, 800kg(1763lb)/600hp, allowing the drivers to be highly competitive in many categories.
During the past months the Racing department of ATS Automobili has carried out severe reliability and performance tests that improved the RR Turbo’s qualities. Suitable for all those professional or gentlemen drivers who are looking for an adaptable and effective racing car, the RR Turbo will be eligible to race internationally with the FIA homologation Appendix J Group E2 SH. Thanks to this, it can compete in a wide variety of disciplines ranging from 24h Series, VLN, International Endurance Series, E2Sh, Clubsport, Hill Climb Championships, and even Time Attack series.
The RR Turbo has also been developed to give the opportunity to Teams, championship organizers and private investors to collaborate with ATS Corsa for the creation of an ATS single-brand championship which can also be included in the GT Open category or in the GT4 group.
With an estimated vehicle maintenance cost per kilometer of around 2.30€, the RR turbo is highly competitive on the budget, allowing drivers to focus more on racing than on maintenance.
The development focused around the philosophy of offering the best materials. Compromise is a word that does not exists in the Company’s dictionary. The RRTurbo is a showcase of selected materials and technological components and “Made in Italy” quality combined together to with solutions which are normally found on much more expensive race cars
Prices are truly competitive when compared with other competitors as they start from 132.000 Euro plus tax for the Clubsport and 164.900 Euro plus tax for the lighter and range-topping Serie Carbonio. Among the special components and available optionals there’s a full carbon bodywork, carbo-ceramic braking system with ultralight cnc billet machined calipers, forged wheels, three-way adjustable suspension, high downforce bi-plane rear carbon spoiler and the quick-lift airjack system. The Company is planning the production of 30 cars per year.
The RR Turbo shows its remarkable quality both internally and externally. Customers will benefit from of a large use of high level technology, starting from the Winner Techno Package (electro-actuated paddle-gearbox, traction control system, assisted gearshifts) to the pushrod and pull rod suspension system with Tractive Adjustable electronic shock absorbers to the autoclave treated composite bodywork, available in both fiberglass (45kg-99.2lb) and carbon fibre (25kg-55lb).
An advanced and very light ATS CORSA optional braking system with 4-piston titanium calipers (coated with DLC – Diamond Light Carbon), CNC milled in aluminum-lithium alloy 2099-t83, is available instead of the standard Brembo set. The construction of the whole frame with the roll cage module use full TIG welds ensuring top quality levels of lightness and rigidity.
The first RR Turbos will be offered in two packages, Clubsport and Serie Carbonio, both aimed offering two different levels of performance for their respective price points. The Clubsport will allow customers to order their cars choosing from the rich list of options which are aimed at fine tune the car for specific classes of racing. On the other hand, Serie Carbonio’s customers will benefit from a race-ready car with an “all-in” package ideal to have the maximum performance. ATS Corsa: competitive maintenance costs
Racing is all about budget and cost-competitive strategies. A race car performance is measured not just on the track but also in the box, the place where key decisions are made. This is why ATS Corsa’s engineers have worked to offer a car able to minimize management efforts by offering competitive maintenance costs with full Factory support at all times. Intended for all those drivers who race in the GT4, TCR and other similar cathegories, the RR Turbo is a car capable of offering a performance level similar of a Sports Prototype car at a much lower cost.
With an average vehicle maintenance cost per kilometer of 2.30€ instead of the GT4’s average of 5.80€, the RR turbo shows its performance also on the budget, allowing drivers to focus more on racing than on maintenance. In addition, in a free configuration without the constraint of the BOP (performance balance), the car boasts a performance which is superior than a GT3, which cost around 500.000€.
