Audi e-tron GT | News
Following the Sportback models, Audi unveils the ambitious e-tron GT, an extremely sleek sedan that takes over the brand’s most powerful full-electric scepter. Close relative to the Porsche Taycan, the e-tron GT maintains the style of the brand of the four rings and offers on board space for four people or even five, thanks to generous dimensions such as 499 cm in length and 196 in width, while the 141 in height accentuate the sinuosity of the lines and the desire to run fast.
We are obviously talking about an all-wheel drive vehicle, powered by two electric motors – each moving their respective axle – and with a 93.4 kWh battery pack located in the platform (86 kWh those actually usable) and with a final power of 530 hp and 640 Nm of torque for the e-tron GT and 646 hp and 880 Nm for the RS e-tron GT. As in the case of the Taycan, Audi decides not to upset the brand nomenclature and therefore entrusts the RS version with the burden and the honor of representing in letters a 0-100 kph in just 3.3 seconds (4.1 for the standard e-tron GT with 245 kph of top speed), while it takes 12 seconds to reach 200 per hour, with an electronically limited maximum speed of 250 per hour.
Aesthetically accurate in every detail devoted to intelligent aerodynamics, the e-tron GT has an electronic control system that manages air suspension, active anti-roll bars and torque distribution to the wheels depending on the driving mode. To complete the dynamic compartment there is integral steering and self-locking differential at the back, as well as optional carbon-ceramic brakes and ultra-light 19, 20 or 21-inch alloy wheels.
Although fast and objectively beautiful, the e-tron GT – like any electric car – also needs to excel in another subject: that of mileage and charging times. Also in this case Audi has accomplished great results, since from 350 kW columns (maximum reception power equal to 270 kW) it is possible to recharge 100 km in just 5 minutes, or even go from 5% to 80% in 23 minutes, reaching the declared maximum range of 487 km in a truly amazing time. The electric car panorama has never been so prolific and compelling. And we can’t wait to drive it.
