We always wondered why they had decided to propose the Audi RS3 only in Sportback version. And while we were there mumbling on, here they unveil the second series, which should set foot in the showrooms starting next summer. 2.5cc 5-cylinder with 362 horsepower, four-wheel drive and dual-clutch gearbox. Numbers make your head spin, as the stated 4.3 seconds for the 0-100 kph, but we must also take into account that it has to fight the A45 AMG, that’s the new real opponent which Audi shall refer now (and also the BMW M2). But there’s more: to play seriously, Audi will release carbon-ceramic brakes, 19” five-spoke wheels and a stiffer body over a 50 kg lighter car (now 1.520). The most interesting news is that which concerns the distribution of so much power, with a software that thanks to a multi-disc clutch can share up to 100% on the rear axle only. There should be no such danger of understeer or impossibility of real drifting. No matter if it is aesthetically a bit ‘timid as the new S3, we are talking about a plane!
