Audi RS6: Rocketlike Performance For The Week (and Weekend too)
The new generation of RS6 has finally been unveiled, the estate that more than any other embodies the idea of speed and complete practicality. No more talk about it and let’s get down to it straight away: under the hood there is a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 600 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque, the result of a collaboration with Lamborghini. This should be enough to have increased your interest, but let’s not stop here. The new RS6 accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in just 3.6 seconds and reaches 200 per hour in 12 seconds, then touching the 305 kph of top speed thanks to the Dynamic Plus package (with the Dynamic you just get to 280 kph).
Fresh things, however, do not only concern the purely performance side, in fact on the new RS6 there is for the first time a mild-hybrid system, which increases the efficiency of the car. You can then take advantage of a gap of 40 seconds in which to cruise with the engine off while coasting, or advance in neutral releasing the brake pedal, but also start/stop system and therefore lower fuel consumption for those kilometers – maybe in the city – in which you will not need the mighty power that lies under the hood, however always ready to be unleashed. The RS6 is equipped with an 8-speed Tiptronic gearbox with torque converter and Quattro all-wheel drive, which can also be managed using the Dynamic and Dynamic Plus packages, which allow you to work on the sports differential on the rear axle. In addition there are Adaptive Air Suspension RS shock absorbers as standard, 20 mm lower suspension compared to the traditional counterpart and a lift system that lifts the car by 20 mm, in case of treacherous ramps. Like every new generation, the RS6 brings with it an incredible plethora of stuff and we are sure that in a matter of months, the roads will be invaded by the performance estate par excellence.
