Auto e Moto d’Epoca Padua 2020 | A Covid-Free Exhibition
This is how Mario Baccaglini – patron of Auto e Moto d’Epoca – defined it following a 2020 edition that was long-awaited but never taken for granted until the very last minutes. In the end, the passion for four and two wheels prevailed and with the utmost respect for the safety regulations in force and that just the day following the end of the event would have prevented it from taking place, the Padua Fair remained on the calendar of exhibitors and visitors as the most important Italian appointment of the year. Despite a predictable, however, significant decline as far as foreigners concern, the event made possible to find the car you were looking for by a long time, perhaps with a little less confusion across the numerous pavilions, or more simply to admire the cars of your dreams or those of your childhood, not to mention the inevitable exhibitions that have the very important task of celebrating an indelible past, authentic treasure for the present and above all for the future.
In this case, Porsche’s area has been undoubtedly the most representative of them all, with an impressive display of racing cars that rarely happen to be admired side by side. But in addition to dream cars, there was huge space for more common models, spare parts, accessories, toys of all kinds and obviously motorcycles. However, what the 2020 Padua Fair represented in everyone’s eyes was the courage to believe and challenge every most pessimistic prediction, managing to raise vintage in the most difficult year since the war. In this context, Auto e Moto d’Epoca has shown that passion – if lived in the right way – really has no limits and that for the wonderful automotive heritage of the past is a socio-cultural baggage capable of getting the best out of a terrible virus moment like the one that made 2020 a year we hope we never have to live again. Appointment in 2021, with the hope of being able to walk among the cars on display without the need to wear any face mask, so as to be able to recognize friends and colleagues and fully breathe this fantastic slice of life.
