Auto & Moto d’Epoca Padua 2022 | 39 Years and It’s Just the Beginning

Auto & Moto d’Epoca has been a point of reference since 1983 for fans of vintage motoring and beyond. In fact, over the course of 39 editions it has experienced an exponential growth, attracting visitors from all over the world and representing the fulcrum of the passion for cars, motorcycles and memorabilia of the good old days. In a motoring scene increasingly devoted to electrification, the world of classic cars has consolidated its position as a catalyst, outlining an essence on its own that can never be replaced and that from next year will move from Padua to Bologna, thus raising the qualitative bar even higher.
The 2022 edition had a more special flavor than usual. A strange atmosphere was breathed in the air, almost as if the wonderful vintage world that satiates our thirst for motoring emotions was about to come to an end. Actually it is just a simple transition, because AME will continue to exist and indeed evolve, taking advantage of an even larger space and more opportunities to underline how much the event is the absolute place to be. It was another journey into automotive and motorcycle history that has made the world of motors the meaning of life for the nearly 3 million visitors came here throughout all these years, with an exhibition that once again ranges from authentic classics to youngtimers and even modern sport cars.
Dealers, as well as private exhibitors, made the big voice this year, being able to collect an incredibly varied offer and arranging those masterpieces that made automotive so great. The Ferrari Museum Modena has made people dream with a display of some of the most legendary models made in Maranello, while classics from every era have found a new home just a few hours after the gates opened. I do not think it is important to make a list of the icons that we have been able to admire and photograph, street legal, racing and even one-off, but rather to underline the fact that once again Auto & Moto d’Epoca has been able to bring together enthusiasts under the same roof and let everyone experience four days of petrol absolute devotion.
The trip to Padua has always been a fixed point on our calendar, highlighted on the last weekend of October and once again the high expectations have certainly not disappointed. We wanted to get lost in the infinity of stands dedicated to spare parts, not to mention when it’s time to go back being a child in that maze of models. And then tell me how many times you could be greeted by a Miura, placed next to a Countach, with an EB110 next to it? AME is all of this, it is a surprising container in which there are no barriers or limits imposed, it is all that the passion for cars must remain, regardless of electric motors, hybrids or emissions talks. As long as we have an event of this type – it doesn’t matter if it changes location – the incredible cultural and emotional baggage of the automotive world is ready to be handed down to the new generations. After all, it is precisely here that many young people find the first vintage car of their life. The first of a lifelong journey.
See you in Bologna, in October 2023!
