This year, the world’s leading rendez vous for watches and jewelry will take place from 21st March to 26th at the MCH Swiss Exhibition in Basel, Switzerland. An unmissable event not only for enthusiasts, buyers, traders of precious stones and media, but also for curious people fascinated by a sector full of news and in constant evolution. The show hosts about 650 exhibitors among the major luxury brands and world-renowned exponents between watchmakers and jewelry.
The exhibition was established in 1917 within the Basel Trade Fair (Muba) and reached its peak in 2013. In 2018, for the first time, the event was reduced by two days due to a decline in the number of exhibitors. In fact, after years of steady growth, we have seen the Swiss watch collapse also due to the fluctuation of the Swiss exchange rate.
This year, despite the defections announced by some important exhibitors, Baselworld remains the most awaited show by fans where to admire all the latest news.
We recommend visiting the official website of Baselworld, a useful tool to find all the information about the event, advice on accommodation, ticket prices as well as an online catalog of exhibitor brands with the most relevant pavilions. There’s also a free app available for download from all devices. Furthermore, Basel is a city rich in history, cultural activities, museums and definitely worth a visit.
We remind that the Geneva Haute Horlogerie Exhibition (SIHH) has just ended, taking place from 14 to 17 January. In recent years this has been a constantly growing fair, offering a balanced mix of consolidated brands and small leading companies. Starting in 2020, the Baselworld and the Geneva Haute Horlogerie calendars will be coordinated and synchronized in order to facilitate visitors and encourage participation in both events.
