Bentley Continental GT and GTC. Here Comes The V8
As planned, the V8 arrives and settles itself under the sensual bonnet of the new Continental GT, both for the coupe and the convertible, or so-called GTC. No renouncement however, in fact the 4-liter twin-turbo V8 is not only useful for offering a range of 800km (with a soft right foot, of course), but enough to push the elegant living room on wheels from 0 at 100 kph in just 4 seconds, with a maximum speed of 318 per hour.
Possible numbers thanks to 550 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque, unloaded on both axles through the autonomous management of the same. The feeling of being at the wheel of a spaceship remains intact, not only for the refined care for the interiors – which are also completely customizable – but for the anti-roll bars and adaptive suspension, capable of amplifying the ride comfort, without causing any loss of involvement or responsiveness when you want to call into question the enormous power reserve.
The V8 is also capable of deactivating half of its own cylinders while you cruise gently, with just 20 thousandths of a second needed for re-igniting the 4 sleepers and thus exploiting the full potential of the car. To differentiate it from the W12 sister we find four tailpipes instead of the 2 ovals, 20-inch wheels (still available up to 22″) and the classic mumble typical of an eight-cylinder. With the GTC variant, the decibels and the desire to enjoy a nice top-down drive at the wheel of this phenomenal grand tourer will be accentuated.
