Bermat GT-Pista: Supercar Tailor-Made in Italy | News
Let’s face it, automotive has now reached a point where the race towards extreme output power becomes a useless vicious circle of self-complacency. We need something that overturns the concept itself, another direction to turn our attention to and the Italian company Bermat led by the visionary entrepreneur Matteo Bertezzolo (hence the name of the brand) has understood that to shake up the sports car panorama, we need that cars of this kind become tailor-made for the lucky owner. We are talking about exclusive models of course, where high performance goes hand in hand with a look ready to make the jaw drop to the ground and in this regard the Bermat GT promises to be all of the above, becoming in all respects the most customizable piece of kit in the world, without implying a prohibitive cost, at least since it is a segment in which one inevitably expects to spend almost 200,000 euro.
The GT-Pista will be the first to debut, pending the road variants and, as said, precisely emphasize the infinite possibilities offered by Bermat. We therefore start with the micro-modular chassis patented by the company itself and called T-MM, while as far as customization concerns, you can build a car from scratch, or start from a donor-car and keep only a minimal part (less 30%) of the details that refer to the starting model. In any case, the GT-Pista is the result of the first project actually carried out by the Trentino Alto Adige-based atelier – because that’s what it is – and directed by Alessandro Camorali’s team. Low-to-the-ground body, forward driving position and gull-wing doors tower over a carbon fiber monocoque that keeps the overall weight under a ton.
As for the engine, the GT-Pista is powered by a 2-liter in-line 4-cylinder supercharged positioned longitudinally at the rear with a power between 300 and 400 horsepower, depending on the configuration chosen, while the maximum torque reaches 450 Nm. Unusual choice for a supercar you might object, but keep in mind that with such a low weight, the GT-Pista accelerates from 0 to 100 kph in less than 4 seconds, then using a sequential 6-speed gearbox and an impressive speed cornering guaranteed by performance-oriented aerodynamics, without forgetting the self-locking differential and suspensions typical of a racing car, essential for a distinctly sporty drivability. The Bermat GT-Pista, arriving in early 2022, will be produced in about 10 units per year, with prices that promise not to exceed € 200,000.
