BMW 7 Series Will Be Launched With 8 Different Engines
BMW 7 SERIES WILL BE LAUNCHED WITH 8 DIFFERENT ENGINES
It has always been the reference point for the Bavarian brand’s top of the range and the new generation of 7 Series brings once again a flood of innovations that raise the bar of the technological and mechanical level of the German saloon. Dimensions increase, its abilities increase too and the dynamic value remains unchanged, thus being able to make this extraordinary BMW a car that satisfies driving pleasure and not just one of the most exceptional sedans on the list today. In addition to the new and more muscular look, with the immediately recognizable double front grille, we have a cockpit with a maniacal attention to detail and ready to offer driver and passengers any imaginable options.
Speaking of what beats under the bonnet, however, BMW said that at its launch will offer as many as 8 different engines. Let’s check them quickly, waiting to get on board and tick every detail of this living room on wheels. The top of the range is represented by the M760Li xDrive, a colossal V12 from 6.6cc, 585 horsepower and 850Nm of torque, just think that a similar power is able to trigger the 7 Series from 0 to 100 kph in just 3, 8 seconds. Boosted by a 4.4cc twin-turbo V8 and 530hp, we have the 750i xDrive (also available with long wheelbase) capable of delivering 750Nm of torque and offer equally exciting performance. The 745e has a 3-liter in-line 6-cylinder engine, combined with an electric unit for a total power of 394hp. The 745Le xDrive is nothing more than the version with four-wheel drive, in this case only available for the long wheelbase variant.
Looking at the diesel engines we find the 750d xDrive (also available as a long wheelbase), which is powered by a 6-cylinder in-line 3-liter for 400hp and 760Nm of torque, while the 740d xDrive (or 740Ld xDrive with long wheelbase) has the same 6-cylinder but detuned to 320hp and 680Nm. Finally, at least for the moment, we have the 730d (and 730Ld) with a 6-cylinder 3-liter and 265hp for 620Nm of torque, while the xDrive version will be available for both the 730d and the 730Ld, with the same specifications. All models are equipped with an 8-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. You’ll have to find a good excuse to tell us you can’t find the right one for you!
