BMW M2 | News
BMW doesn’t seem to like half measures. If from the point of view of driving dynamics, every M baked by the German brand continues to promptly tick all of the fun boxes, under the aesthetic one, not everything goes smoothly as it should, especially after the numerous criticisms rained on the discussed front grille of the new 3 Series and Series 4. With the same premises we are welcoming the new M2, the little coupe hungry for powerslides and always ready to make the tires smoke. The new model does not inherit the two huge nostrils at the front of its older sister, but comes with an extremely squared design and lines that in some places seem almost glued all over the place and that right at the front clash with a bumper that is even too protruding.
No problem today, given that the side profile remains much cleaner and more fluid and that under the bodywork we find a superfine chassis and the engine derived from the same that equips the M3/M4, a 3.0 6-cylinder twin-turbo capable of delivering 460 horsepower, the like of +90 compared to the previous model. Red line of the rev counter set at 7,200 rpm – sounds good ha – acceleration to 0-100 in 4.1 seconds and an 8-speed M Steptronic automatic transmission, or a 6-speed manual, for those who cannot give up an even more visceral feeling. Like it or not – aesthetically – it remains pure pleasure to drive.
