BMW M5 | News
The amazing and muscular M5 sedan is still in the middle of its glorious life cycle and now it’s time for a slight restyling. This occurs mainly with the many details that do not upset the look of a model that decades ago created a new niche, now so dear to fans, that of high performing sedans. The M5 therefore assumes the features that characterize the same updated version of the standard 5 Series, but it is under the skin that we find the most interesting contents, such as the use of shock absorbers derived from the M8 Gran Coupe and therefore an even more capable chassis able to excel in any situation. The all-wheel drive system is also updated with Active M Differential. We have 19″ alloy wheels as standard (which become 20″ on the Competition), with an enhanced braking system and the usual possibility of opting for the carbon ceramic one.
Let’s talk about the engines now and in this case we have the same overflowing twin-turbo V8 perfected with the latest generation, a 4.4 cc that delivers 600 horsepower for the M5 and 625 for the M5 Competition, with maximum torque of 750 Nm and performance respectively of 3.4 and 3.3 seconds on the 0-100 kph and a top speed that can touch the 305 per hour thanks to the M Driver pack. The usual technology that we have come to expect cannot be missing, especially on this price range (from around € 122,000), while new colors and various customization options arrive as well, without forgetting the sports seats with integrated headrests, an authentic must to accentuate the sporty character of the M5.
