Bridgestone Potenza S007: License To Grip
Tires play a fundamental role and should never be underestimated. Together with our friends at Euroimport Pneumatici we have chosen 6 different proposals that will allow you to better understand what tyre is best for you and your car. Here is the third episode of the special series.
Among Bridgestone’s luxury partners there is not just Ferrari. Even Aston Martin has chosen to equip its flagship GT with some Potenza 007 rubber (a name certainly familiar to all the fans of the most famous secret agent in the world). The DB11, available in both the V12 and V8 versions, has indeed chosen this type of tire, which thanks to the rigid block tread design and the hard compound is able to combine high ride comfort and excellent grip, especially on dry tarmac. The Potenza 007 have been designed for high performance supersport cars, but at the same time they do not lack offering comfort and relaxing feedbacks, essential for such a grand tourer.
We had the opportunity to spend several days in the company of the new DB11 V8 and we certainly did not left it parked in front of the office, bringing its twin-turbo V8 on demanding roads, made of tight bends and fast corners. Starting in the early hours of the morning and with wet asphalt, we noticed that the Bridgestone that come as standard with the DB11 are perfectly able to make you take advantage of most of the power without having to fear when it comes to be close to the redline, but on dry surface, the grip generated by this hard mixture proved to be truly unsurpassed, allowing us to keep a pace that we would never have imagined possible for a coupe weighing about 1,880kg. Plus, the Potenza S007 are also available in Runflat variant, offering the possibility to travel 50/60 km extra, in case of puncture.
