On September 24th, Cars and Coffee Italy has come back where it all began, in Turin, Piedmont. After a few years in which from a local gathering for a small group of enthusiasts it has become a real cult event that draws hundreds of supercars and hypercars from all over Europe and thousands and thousands of fans, we have another appointment adding to those that have made this 2016 less boring for those who want to enjoy beautiful cars, with also the possibility of having a chat with the owners.
Again this year, meeting point for the approximately 180 registered cars, without distinction for age or brand but all inextricably linked by ounces of prestige and elegance, has been the Cistercian Abbey in Lucedio, where a dream car river entered the main gates in classical C&C style, and so divided by brand and age, in order to make more precise and engaging the morning for all participants and let them enjoy the impressive fleet attending the event. As always, subjects for many photographers there were a lot of Ferrari, including a white F12 TdF which won the award for “Best of show”, but also two F40, F50, the Porsche Carrera GT brought by our dear friend Raul Marchisio (who gave another demonstration of his driving skills, a few hours later), various GT3 RS, Shmee150’s Cayman GT4 and then Lamborghini and McLaren to represent the best of modern production and beyond. Moreover, Team Gino Luxury & Motorsport came in full force, deploying the flaming AMG GT S, a BMW i8 and a handful of Evora 400. Rich dish, of course. Every self-respecting car guy was able to find their dream car without any effort and after the inevitable high level lunch, the cars headed towards Biella’s airport, where waiting for them there was an impressive and excited crowd of people, always eager for some burnout and some revving to capture with a smartphone or a camera, but some of the participants also had the opportunity to unleash their beasts down the runway. That was everything a proper car guy want to do at least once in their life: no limit, maximum space and visibility and a crowd that incites you to go heavy on the throttle.
Not only fun, but also a thought to those people that are passing through a dramatic period, following the earthquake that hit several Italian countries, just a few months ago. Francesco Canta, President and one of the founders and main characters of C&C Italy said “During this emergency situation, all our thoughts are with all those families who were severely affected by that terrible earthquake at the end of August. Cars and Coffee aims, as far as possible, to help those people. For this reason, a portion of proceeds went to the Croce Rossa Italiana organization, in order to support those people and the reconstruction work.”, demonstrating how the brand is not only aimed at enhancing the automotive heritage, but also the human side of the many people involved.
The day flies fast and the signs of rubber on the asphalt are the best mark that the guys at C&C could ask for. Another confirmation, another success that anticipates their next event, scheduled for October 9th in Caserta, for the second edition of the successful gathering for supercars owners and enthusiasts in South Italy. And while we still applaud hat down, we are already rearranging our ideas not to lose a single appointment for 2017. Are you with us? Of course, no doubt!
