Chapter Six: The battle continues
CHEVROLET CAMARO
Long bonnet, sculpted side, slim windows and pronounced wheel arches are the traditional features that accompany once again the “immortals” lines of the new Camaro. The MY2015 weighs about 90 kg less, and manages to be 28% stiffer at the structural level if compared to the version it replaces. Handling has been improved not only thanks to a lower weight, but also for its new Magnetic Ride Control suspension linked to the new Drive Mode Selector, a system that provides four modes of operation (Snow/Ice Tour, Sports and Track) and which intervenes on eight parameters of the car to ensure the best drivability in all conditions. Last but not least, the heart of the new Camaro, or rather the hearts, all offered with a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission: the more powerful is always the classic 6.2 V8 with 461-hp followed by the 340-hp 3.6 V6. The breaking news is represented by the arrival of the 4-cylinder 2.0 turbo which outputs 279-hp: a very similar engine to that already released, incidentally, by the latest generation Ford Mustang, also offered with a four-cylinder 2.3 and 314-hp. So waiting once again another face to face, the battle between the Ford Mustang and the new Chevrolet Camaro continues…
