COL DE BRAUS
Col de Braus has essentially become famous as a special stage in the Monte-Carlo Rallye. Despite a short development which, moreover, concentrates its fulcrum in just 600 meters in which we find 8 tight and demanding hairpin bends, it could make you end the rear tires before you manage to finish reading this words. After traveling the main stretch of the Col de Turini and descending towards L‘Escarène, the fateful left turn towards La Pausa will be the one that will allow you to return to Sospel and resume the loop of one of the most legendary stages in the rally world.
Location: L’Escarène – Sospel (FRA)
Type: mountain road
Length: 24km
Elevation: 1,002m
The Col de Braus, however, is not exclusively concentrated in that agglomeration of hairpin bends stacked with incredible order on top of each other, because in the kilometers that separate the two villages there is also room to sink the throttle properly. It is one of those roads that undoubtedly puts a strain on the brakes of a car, but also the chassis and above all the power/weight ratio that rewards an agile car, but which cannot give up pure power, especially once you have passed the so-called summit – identified at 1,002 meters – and pointed your nose towards Sospel.
