Among the highest Alpine passes in Europe, it manages to blend every kind of background, ranging from forest sections, through tight hairpins and a rocks’ summit with seemingly endless drop on the sides of the road.

The driving experience on this mountain pass is unique also thanks to the several spots you find on the side of the road. Pilgrimage destination for every self-respecting enthusiast, the side descending the Col du Restefonde is even more spectacular for its breathtaking views and huge fields that in late Summer, early Autumn (if the pass is still open) give an extraordinary array of colors, for sure the best time of the year to get here. The summit, just next to the iconic monolith, let you walk up to 2,802m and amaze your eyes with a complete view of the mountains all around.
