COL DE LA COLOMBIERE
The mountains are always able to surprise and an example is those Alpine passes which, even if they do not reach an altitude of 2,000 meters, still manage to represent a more than valid reason to prefer a curvy road to the faster and shorter alternatives. Take for example the Col de la Colombière, with an altitude of 1,613 m and one of those landscapes that leave you breathless from the first meters you move towards the top. Regardless of whether you decide to identify Le Villaret as the point of arrival or departure instead of Le Reposoir, the fortunate position in the Haute-Savoie department gives this Col a majestic backdrop of mountains that seem to run orderly along the horizon.

Since this is not a priority way, it is easy to find little traffic and thus be able to enjoy a road that is wide enough and with such visibility as to allow you to strengthen the relationship of intimacy with your vehicle. In this particular case you will not stock up on hairpin bends, there are some and even well shaped, but it is the softer curves and those wide spaces that make the Col de la Colombière a destination not to be overlooked and to be included in your travel map, granting you almost a sort of break compared to the more typical climbs, but not for this giving up twenty kilometers full of adrenaline.
