COL DE L’ISERAN

Considered as the highest paved road in Europe, the Col de l’Iseran is able to offer pretty much every kind of corners you could possibly think of. From narrow hairpins on the north side, to faster and panoramic sections on the south part, aiming for the beautiful town of Bonneval-sur-Arc (right where they filmed the movie “Belle & Sebastien” (2013).

Elevation: 2,770m

The first word that comes to mind when thinking about this place is its vastness. Plus for getting here you cross nice ski resorts and the wonderful Val d’Isère, a place worthing a stop and a good chance to refuel your car. Ideal in Spring (if already open) and especially in the middle of Summer, you get some rocks-filled road side climbing (if coming from the north), as well as picturesque bridges and twisty sections on your way down.
