COL DE TURINI
COL DE TURINI
No doubt one of driving enthusiasts’ favorite place, thanks to the legacy it carries mated to the legendary Monte-Carlo rally, the Col de Turini offers some amazing parts even if you find a bit of traffic. For sure it also represents an ideal proving ground, ranging from fast sections to slower hairpins.
Location: Sospel/La Bollène-Vésubie, FRANCE
Elevation: 1,604m
The Turini is a magical place, that’s the reason we also stage one of our events here. The road is narrow and sometimes it can presents traffic and road works, but driving on such a holy ground gives goosebumps at every hairpin you put your wheels on the thread marks of some WRC racing car. Immersed in nature, the last section from Sospel to the summit is not fast-paced but extremely panoramic, while the descent to La Bollène-Vésubie is even more demanding and rich in corners of all kinds. Definitely this worths a drive and even if supercars always seem the better choice, you would prefer less power, a more agile layout and a bit more ground clearance.
