Continental ContiWinter Contact TS 830 P
Tires play a fundamental role and should never be underestimated. Together with our friends at Euroimport Pneumatici we have chosen 6 different proposals that will allow you to better understand what tyre is best for you and your car. Here is the sixth episode of the special series.
Continental rightly claims an experience which is the result of almost fifty years of presence on the international market. The brand, also known for the production of braking systems, therefore plays a fundamental role in the making of tires for any type of car, from cheap city cars up to the most performing supercars. Subject of our article, also taking into account the cold season that requires to equip your vehicle with winter tires, are the ContiWinter Contact range, winter rubbers that do not sacrifice comfort, but that are still able to offer a high grip on wet or snow-covered roads.
As we tested the new and luxurious Rolls Royce SUV, we have been able to touch firsthand how the ContiWinter Contact (TS 830 P) represent the ideal choice for a nearly three-ton behemoth with four-wheel drive and almost 600 horses of power. While driving (but also being driven on) a car of this caliber, silence plays a more important aspect than usual and for this very reason the type of compound turns out to be the winning card fielded by Continental. Last but not least, being a winter tire, we have faced dirt roads, stretches covered with sand, but also a mountain road with soaked asphalt and despite a pretty exuberant pace for a car like the Cullinan, the four-wheel drive has always been able to get us out of corners without effort. Using this unusual Rolls Royce with the traction on the rear wheels only, the situation has not changed, but we have further refined corners entries, reducing the slight understeer found when pushing the car close to the limits.
