Dallara Stradale: When Dreams Come True
That of Dallara is a beautiful fairy tale, a daydream that after a long gestation due to the many efforts deployed in the racing world and to provide the basis for other cars that have indelibly marked the automotive panorama, becomes reality the very day of his founder Gian Paolo 81st birthday. The Stradale is the first road car ever built by Dallara, the result of a remarkable experience and a search that leaves nothing to the case, as tradition for the Italian maker.
The 600 units that will be produced – 100 of them already sold – will give the possibility to turn from speedster to coupe fitting the removable windshield and adding doors and roof, while at the performance level we find a 2.3 EcoBoost brought to 400 horses. The Roadster configuration weighs just 855kg, while the Coupe variant is capable of generating up to 820kg of downforce – if equipped with the optional rear wing. Needless to say, it will be a lethal weapon on any track, but being able to leave home at the wheel is an added value that certainly does not go unnoticed. The chassis is entirely made of carbon fiber and the phenomenal power/weight ratio gives it a 0 to 100 kph of just 3.2 seconds, with a top speed of about 280 kph. With the increase of its production capacity, Dallara plans to build at least 10 units per month, starting next summer, with prices starting at around € 155,000, excluding VAT. This is a beautiful dream, not just for Dallara, but for every cars enthusiast out there.
