FIRST CONTACT WITH NAIAS

There are too many news to not dedicate a special showcase to the 2015 NAIAS (North American International Auto Show), so, we decided to analyze them in a couple of episodes, taking the best (and worst) of what you can admire under the spotlight of Detroit. One thing stands above each other, however, and it is the American city, too often accused of being disgraced by representing only the breakup of the stars and stripes automotive industry: this year we’re seeing some really amazing cars as it wasn’t happening for so long. Here are our first top choices for you. Stay tuned for more.

Ford GT Concept
To attract the attention was mainly her, the concept car of the next Ford GT: arriving in 2016, the ultimate American supercar will have a powerful twin turbo V6 with 600 horsepower.

Alfa Romeo 4C Spider
The Italian maker loses his hat and makes the American lose their mind, presenting their latest model in Detroit, it’s the new 4C Spider, or the cabrio version of the excellent 4C. The 1750 turbo with 237-hp remains the same and about 10kg more will certainly not be a problem for the handling of the little Italian sports car, even sexier than the hardtop version.

Acura NSX
After 25 years from the presentation of the legendary Honda NSX and endless years of waiting, admiring many concepts that were never realized, we can finally say that the time has come. The Acura NSX you see here, is the heir of one of Japan’s most popular sports cars. The engine, located in the middle, will be a twin-turbo V6, paired with three electric motors and traction will be on all four wheels, but do not claim to know anything else. Be satisfied with this for the moment. Soon, we are sure, we will know more.

Mercedes-Benz AMG GLE63 S
The three-pointed star brand did not leave time to put in our garage the new GLE with AMG package, which has been presented the real AMG: a worthy opponent for the X6M, so far, almost left alone to dominate the segment of performance-SAV. The German maxi-coupe 4×4 has the well-known 5.5 V8 twin turbo engine that outputs 577-hp and has a style that seems to travel light years ahead of its Bavarian opponent. Needless to say, that on board, you will have every gadget available today, useful while waiting to fill up the thirsty engine at the gas station.

Shelby Mustang GT350R
Ford does not stop at the new GT supercar and point out the exclamation point on the event presenting the meanest Mustang ever, the more suited one for jumping from one curb to another: the Shelby GT350R. A real track-beast. Aesthetic and especially mechanical upgrades, with a stiffer chassis, a 5.2 V8 naturally aspirated that outputs 500 horsepower and above all, two black stripes that run the whole car body. There will be serious fun at the wheel.
