Elisa Artioli | The Last Lotus Elise

Each path has a beginning and an end and we know that the strongest emotions are those that happen in the middle. But a conclusion does not necessarily represent the curtain fall, but rather a new start, in life as in love, in work and in any other area you could think of. This concludes one of the most exciting chapters in automotive history, such as the end of production of the Elise, the legendary lightweight which rewrote the rules of driving pleasure, thanks to a universally recognized mantra according to which “less is more” by the legendary Colin Chapman and very precise rules put the experience behind the wheel on a mountain road, in the middle of the curbs and also in an everyday life made more special because of lack of filters, superfluous technology and thanks to that visceral connection between driver and chassis are capable of transmitting every smallest bit of dust on the asphalt below.
And so, after more than 25 years of honored career, the latest Lotus Elise destined for customers crosses the gates of Hethel and is entrusted to the best person to preserve this important legacy and project it into a future that will never be the same. Elisa Artioli, muse of her grandfather Romano who resurrected the brand, not only shares the name with one of the greatest sports cars of all time (find our interview with Elisa at this link), but let the Lotus magic became part of herself, meeting many people and sharing with them her great sympathy, kindness and that incredible desire to attack who knows how many kilometers holding the steering wheel of romanticism on wheels in her hands.
Congratulations Elisa, not only for bringing home a beautiful Elise 240 Sport Final Edition – the last of its kind – but for enriching the world of enthusiasts with your fantastic personality, perfectly living up to an automotive heritage of an incalculable caliber. Her Elise S1 will no longer be alone in the garage at home, but who knows how she will choose which of the two to pick in the morning before leaving for roads to drive thus continuing to write many other beautiful memories in her personal diary called life.
