Eugenio Amos, founder of Automobili Amos, is a man on a mission and judging from what he presented at Grand Basel, he kept his promise. The #makelanciagreatagain hashtag has been a real mantra for him in recent months, especially since he began to spread some teasers of a special Delta that has opportunely ended and baptized Futurista, a restomod that smells of vintage and is hungry for curves, but above all that will appeal to fans of the iconic rally legend and that is already recruiting new fanatics.
But the project in question is not as simple as it may seem and is actually the result of a painstaking work that shows that passion and ambition have been impregnated in every panel and every single inch of this “new Lancia Delta”. Yeah, it sounds a little strange, but be honest, it’s nice to hear that, right? The Delta Futurista is based on a 1989 model and is fitted with an aerodynamic kit made of carbon fiber composed of new and more generous bumpers and wheel arches, placed above an aluminum body that incorporates a cabin inspired by the Delta S4 Stradale, the Group B legend.
Under the hood there are now 330 horses (against the 210 of the original version) and among other things he also managed to save some kilos. What remains unchanged is driving feeling – and we can imagine it – raw and essential as a true enthusiast wants, precisely because this is not a normal car, but a dispenser of emotions, of strong emotions. And what about the “levati” (move away) button, useful for blinking at the one in front of you and inviting elegantly to get out of the way. A fine touch that goes to join the emotional value of a conversion limited to only 20 units, each of which will be sold for € 300,000. Not a few pennies for sure, but how much would you be willing to pay for a dream?
