Ferrari 458 Speciale: N/A V8’s Swansong

What’s that?

The 458 Speciale is the ultimate expression of the already amazing 458 Italia. A supercar with a mid-rear naturally aspirated V8 (the last from Maranello) outputting 605hp and a chassis in between the race car that you dream driving the weekend and the sports car also suitable for long journeys, without necessarily kill your back. As with the Scuderia with the “standard” F430, the Speciale honed and sharpened brakes, suspension, gearbox, etc. for the benefit of a more pure and extreme (when you ask for it) driving involvement. Communicative like a Lotus, but powerful like a Lamborghini, as a “S”pecial Ferrari should be!

How does it drive?

Needless to say, it is fast, very fast indeed. Figures referring to its speed performance say a lot: less than 3 seconds for the 0-100, 0-200 in 9.1 seconds and shift times of just 0.060 seconds. Top speed of about 325 kph, but what leaves more shocked is the manner in which you can handle corners, with no distinction between those of a fast track and those of a narrow and treacherous mountain road. The predatory behavior is what makes it a lethal weapon, something it will remain even after many years.

Most Wanted or not?

It is not a limited edition (as some may think), but it is extremely popular, so much so as to make extremely long and difficult the wait to order a new one. Second-hand prices are so spattered up, but it is not impossible to find a good deal. The 458 Speciale is not cheap, but it will pay off all your sacrifices with so many satisfactions, which you’re gonna bless the day you decided to erase all your savings, to be able to take home one. A Ferrari is always exciting, but a Special Ferrari is something more.
