Ferrari 488 Pista: Bow Down To The King
The birth of a new Ferrari is always a global event, but the expectations for the evolution of the 488 GTB were something more than that. It has long rumored about its name and especially on its specifications, which would have brought important notions developed in motorsport, always in the heart of the Prancing Horse. So, to capture the attention of every living being, here comes the 488 Pista, an even more special 488 and the most powerful Ferrari V8 ever produced in history.
In fact, its 3.9 twin-turbo reaches 710 horsepower and 770Nm of torque, but a significant reduction in weight is added to the increase in power. The 488 Pista weighs 90Kg less than the GTB, stopping the needle at 1280kg. Crazy numbers that translate and give a better idea of how the Pista will be crazy fast with a 0-100 kph of just 2.8 seconds and a 0-200 kph of 7.6 seconds – top speed of over 340 per hour. Once we overcome the numeric trauma, we remain ecstatic in front of a shape devoted to aerodynamics, but that has not lost even one bit of its noble DNA: appendages that make its look much more threatening, increasing by 20% the generated downforce and caressing the timeless silhouette of a mid-engined two-seater that seems even wider and pressed to the ground than before.
The exhaust, with two huge tailpipes in the middle of the tail, will have an even deeper and more involving voice, while in terms of driving dynamics, Ferrari ensures that it has managed to further move the bar of fun and precision, thanks to technology devices such as the Side-Slip Angle Control 6, E-Diff3, F1 Trac, magnetorheological suspensions and the Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer.
