Ferrari 812 Competizione | News
Now officially ready for the big debut scheduled for May 5th, Ferrari has released a couple of images that make it clear how much power and exclusivity are at the basis of the stratospheric 812 Competizione. This is a special version of the 812 Superfast produced in just 999 units, which drastically distorts the aesthetics and dynamics of a model designed to travel long distances in the shortest possible time.
The naturally aspirated V12 develops 830 horsepower with a maximum delivery reached at 9,500 revs per minute, values never achieved by a combustion engine that came out of the gates of Maranello. But it does not end there, because the 812 Competizione is equipped with four-wheel steering, less weight than the Superfast and an updated Side Slip Control system, in order to make it possible to exploit the power of the immense technological-mechanical marriage refined by the engineers of the prancing horse. Going back to talking about aerodynamics, despite the fact that a grand tourer is committed to keep a look suitable for a wider coexistence than for example a supercar in the most traditional sense of the term, the 812 Competizione does not hide an indigestion of new profiles that characterize the whole body of the car in order to press it to the ground thanks to a greater aerodynamic load generated for example by new front air intakes, a new rear diffuser and the rear window with monolithic aluminum structure, which pays homage to the illustrious past of the brand, also playing an important aerodynamic role.
The set-up is more devoted to an extreme driving experience, while maintaining a setting that does not forget its GT origins, while the cockpit adds some touches reserved for this special model, without however upsetting the perceived onboard comfort. In addition, it will also be made available as a spider, or Aperta to call it by its real name. In this case, 399 units will be produced, thus bringing the extraordinary 812 GTS to become a high speed Targa for the ages.
