Ferrari F8 Spider: A Top-Down Thrilling Experience
On the occasion of the grand opening of Universo Ferrari, a new exciting way to immerse in the world of the Rosse from Maranello exactly in front of the legendary Fiorano test track, the Prancing Horse drops a pair of aces, increasingly approaching the 5 new models to be unveiled in 2019. After the F8 Tributo and the SF90 Stradale it is time for the F8 Spider and the 812 GTS.
The F8 Spider is obviously the cabrio declination of the Tributo coupe, the new Berlinetta with the engine in central rear position, heir to the still more than exciting 488 GTB. The opening mechanism of the roof has been further refined and this has made possible to save 20 kg compared to the 488 Spider, always maintaining a solid roof that has facilitated as far as design concerns, helping to make the tail sinuous like the coupe version. Pushing the F8 Spider we find the same V8 twin-turbo that won the “Engine of the year” award from 2016 to 2019, thanks to its 3.9 cc and 720 horses unleashed at 8,000 rpm, incredible numbers for a turbocharged engine. Thanks to a torque of 770 Nm, the F8 Spider is certainly not a Cinderella cabrio for a Sunday cruise down the Riviera, on the contrary it keeps the racing spirit of the counterpart with a rigid roof, but giving the possibility to amplify the soundtrack, once you opt for driving in topless mode. 0-100 kph in just 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 340 per hour.
