Ferrari F8 Tributo: Prancing Horse’s Most Powerful V8
When you produce a car like the 488 GTB, it’s really hard to think to retire it. Yet, after 4 years since its debut (in Geneva, in 2015) it’s time to sell the baton to the new F8 Tributo, which with its high-sounding name anticipates the fact that it boasts the most powerful V8 ever produced in Maranello.
The 3.9cc is always driven by two turbos, but delivers 720 horsepower at 8000 rpm (+50 compared to the 488 GTB) and 770Nm at 3250 rpm. Performance like 2.9 seconds for the 0-100 kph and just 7.8 seconds for the 0-200, with a top speed of 340 per hour, thanks to a weight reduction of 40kg, stopping the scale at 1330 kg. The transmission confirms to be a dual clutch with 7 speeds.
The F8 Tributo is not only more powerful and more aggressive, thanks to a design made more inclined to crack the air with easily visible updates to the front and rear, where for example we have a new spoiler that overhangs the two pairs of round headlights. There is the so-called S-Duct, useful for the management of frontal air dynamics and contributing a further 15% on the aerodynamic load increase compared to the 488 GTB. To honor one of Maranello’s most iconic V8 models – the F40 – we have a Lexan engine cover, while in the cockpit we find circular air vents, an updated design for the steering wheel and a new 7-inch passenger display. Straight in our dreams.
