The latest Prancing Horse’s One-Off has a very simple name to remember, but perfectly capable of evoking the glories of Maranello’s legacy. It’s called Omologata and it’s another triumph of design and mechanics that comes out of the Ferrari gates to head straight to the garage of a lucky and wealthy customer.
Inspired by the legendary 1962 250 GTO, the Omologata is based on the 812 Superfast, but only on a basis, since the only parts in common with the original car are the headlights and the windscreen. Everything else has been designed by Flavio Manzoni’s Centro Stile, in a continuous tribute to the icon of the 60s, found for example in the bonnet, the vertical air intakes behind the front wheels and in the rear spoiler going upwards. In place of the rear window we then have three horizontal slits, another reference to the more racing side of the Cavallino.
Finished with a special three-layer red paint (Magma Red), the Omologata lets us peek into its black cockpit with some electric blue details, while it will most likely be powered by the same 6.5cc 800 horsepower V12 fitting a traditional Superfast.
