Ferrari Roma – Meet The New “Dolce Vita”
Promise maintained for the prancing horse that has just unveiled its 5th new model for this extraordinary 2019. F8 Tributo, SF90 Stradale, F8 Spider, 812 GTS and now the mighty grand tourer that pays homage to the city capital and those magical years of the “dolce vita” that have made Rome one of the points of reference in terms of beauty and elegance all over the globe.
Aptly unveiled in the eternal city, the Roma represents a completely different approach compared to the Portofino and F8 Tributo, going to place itself between the two in terms of price, which should be between € 200,000 and € 240,000. The Roma embodies the quintessence of GT cars who have written the most beautiful pages in the history of the brand, combining a classic design with futuristic traits to the ideal usability for everyday life, as well as the ability to crunch long distances. 2+ seats with a long engine bonnet that houses the 3.8 cc twin-turbo V8 which delivers 620 hp and 760 Nm of torque on the rear-wheels, available between 3,000 and 5,750 rpm. Automatic dual-clutch 8-speed gearbox that comes with one of the many innovations that enrich the interior, as it recalls the iconic open cage.
Still remaining in the cockpit we have a central tunnel that draws a soft line that divides the passenger compartment, an 8.4″ touch display in the center and a new display that incorporates all the instrumentation in front of the driver’s eyes, a huge 16-inch screen through which you can view the desired driving tools or the map of the navigator in full screen.
On the outside we have soft lines that find their apex in the raised tail and in the mouth that points upwards, showing off among other things an air grille finished in the same color of the body. Performance obviously worthy of a Ferrari, with a 0-100 kph of just 3.4 seconds, 0-200 in 9.3 and a top speed of over 320 per hour. Ferrari aims its claws on a segment focused on enhancing driving pleasure, and does so with a car that promises great skills being simply driven and not necessarily with a knife between the teeth.
