Goodwood Circuit
Track Name: Goodwood
Country: UK
Location: Goodwood, Chichester, West Sussex
Lenght: 3,809 km
Overall Record: 1’18’’954 – Andrew Smith (Lola T70 Spyder)
Road legal car record: 1’22’’620 – Lexus LFA
Info: Not to be confused with the famous Hillclimb held annually around the residence of Lord March (see ACM n.20), the circuit of Goodwood is active since 1948 and has been stage of racing on two and four wheels. Tragically also famous for having taken the life of the founder of the Team McLaren, Bruce McLaren died during tests in June of 1970.
Focus: At first sight, it may seem a quite simple circuit, due to its wide angle corners. In fact the track at Goodwood should be taken seriously, first of all for the continual ups and downs and also for the speed which you can acquire on the Lavant straight before Woodcote corner. Lavant corner itself is challenging, especially when faced with the car unbalanced coming out from St. Mary’s.
