Gorges du Cians
GORGES DU CIANS
Located on the “East side” of the Gorges de Daluis, the Gorges du Cians are equally breathtaking both for the typical red color of the rocks surrounding the tight and narrow road, both for the landscape that let you dive into some sort of twisty and endless cavern.
Location: Beuil, FRANCE
Type: twisty road
The Gorges here are carved into the mountains by the river Cians and yes, you find the unmistakable red rocks on one side of the road, while on the other –between a lot of dark tunnels ready to enhance the sound of your exhaust – opens an ever changing and picturesque landscape. The road is very narrow and it wouldn’t be easy to overtake the car in front of you, but the true beauty of this place is rightly the fact that you really have the chance to enjoy what’s around and breathe a sense of isolation from the rest of the world. Being a part of French “balcony roads” just because the road itself lies on a sheer cliff of rock, you gotta be careful for stones in the middle of the way and exploit every little parking stop you find in order to take some pictures of this unique piece of world.
