Jaguarissima: meeting & Bergamo historic GP
Over the weekend of 14/15 June was held in Bergamo the 3rd “Meeting of the Thousand”. Organized by our friends at Jaguarissima, with the participation and support of the Jaguar Club Italy, the Jag enthusiasts have been gathered for two big events: the visit to the Riva shipyard, and participation at the Bergamo Historic Grand Prix. After meeting in Bergamo they visited the historical Riva’s shipyard in Sarnico, where they could meet the Eng. Carlo Riva, visit the extraordinary Gervasoni’s collection and enter the legendary office called “The Plank” for its shape cantilevered over the lake. The next day, they were spectators of the Grand Prix of Bergamo, the reenactment of the GP of 1935 which saw the victorious Tazio Nuvolari on the only medieval circuit in the world. Some members of the Jaguar Club Italy also participated as pilots, leading to the “track” a few E-type and an XK150. During the gathering, several Jaguars were present: from E-type, a lot of XK, to the current XJ saloons. The next dates are set for the end of September and the end of October; more details will be announced on the forum www.jaguarissima.it and on our news page.
