Lexus LS400: Still Offers Good Value For Money
Let me put the record straight in order to fully appreciate the LS400 and thus making a short introduction. About twenty years ago for buying a new one, you would have to pay at least € 60,000, whereas now just 5,000 are enough. Lexus, Toyota’s technology and avant-garde branch is today well-known by everyone, but in the mid-90s, with the arrival of the second generation of the executive LS400 sedan, it was not. It has carved out an important niche in difficult markets and increasingly improved its product, constantly compared to the local production (both for the European and American market), but the solutions adopted with this model have made their way up to today, where Lexus still offers good cars able to offer incredible comfort, technology and luxury.
The LS400 which was produced between 1995 and 2000, comes as the second generation of the LS range, under the design of a sedan with four doors and five seats with the most classic and squared line possible. The LS400 features a powerful 4.0cc V8 capable of delivering 284hp and accelerate this almost two tons sedan from 0 to 100 in just 6.9 seconds, also because of the excellent (for the time) 5-speed automatic transmission. Traction is only on the rear axle, but what is special about this model, even 20 years later, it is the technological package that offers to its occupants and its driver. We find one of the first navigation systems, CD changer in the glove compartment and other gadgets that make everyday life, especially for those who used it for work much more simple and functional. Of course, today the line is dated and too reminiscent of an outdated age, but if you look for substance rather than appearance, with really ridiculous money, you will have Lexus’ reliability and luxury intact, today as 20 years ago.
